The United States has seen many try outs on leaders lives in its scam history. Assassinations have been attempted on fifteen U.S. Presidents, resulting in four deaths. The other eleven attempted murders are often bulky forgotten by everyday persons, however the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan in March of 1981 has had so many many effects on todays society that it should not be erased from the history boards.
What could have started such a desktop breaking and on going event? Oddly enough, it began with a film; Taxi Driver starring Robert De Niro and a new-fangled Jodie boost, is about a New York taxi driver who saves the sustenance of a child prostitute by killing a senator. This film was seen a total of fifteen times by one John Warnock Hinckley, Jr., a man striving to reverse a songwriter and our soon to be assassin. Hinckley developed an obsession with the young actress Jodie Foster, and began to stem turn her, even enrolling at Yale University to slip go to bed poems under her dormitory door.
This obsession began to take a frolic for the worse at this point. After being denied by Foster on several occasions, Hinckley began to develop multiple plans to mystify a national figure, through hijacking a plane, committing suicide, or somewhat other infamy gaining tactic.



In doing this, he believed that he would become her equal as a national celebrity and she would chance upon in love with him. He finally settled on a plan to assassinate the President, similar to the main reputation of the film Taxi Driver. Hinckley began to trail then-President Jimmy Carter from state to state. He even began to research information about Lee Harvey Oswald, whom he viewed as a sort of idol. Hinckley was arrested during his trailing of Carter for illegal self-will of a firearm.
