The Amazing Life of Carl Brashear
On January 19, 1931 there was a pitch blackness born Carl Brashear, who would one day shake up not only the naval forces Community but would make biography by being the 1st blackness Diver to grade The US navy blue Diving and Salvage School, the 1st Negro Master Chief Diver, and the 1st amputee diver. Carl was born number 6 out of 8 to McDonald and Gonzella Brashear, in Tonieville Kentucky. Carl was never born with a silver spoon in his mouth, never had the fine livings that we hurl today. Instead he was born to sharecropping parents, and attended grade civilize from 1937 to 1946 where in 8th grade he quit to help his parents out and keep the land they could call their own. Shortly after the navy desegregated Carl joined the military in hopes of having a better future, he was 17. Upon completion of his Military Basic Training Carl was assigned as a Stewart. While being stationed in Key West, Florida he met with Chief Boatswains Mate Guy P.

Johnson who arranged for Carl to suffer out of the Stewart Branch and move into the Beachmaster Division to where Carls love for the sea grew even more.
