People draw many criterions to estimate a country. Among those standards, usage is one of the most grand things. I prescribe it because through the customs duty, we will be able to know slightly not only the people in that country just in any case about its history. Vietnam is not an exception. Furthermore, Vietnamese usage is the most important part in our daily life. Along with the development of our tradition is the society. The more the society develops, the richer our country will be. However, everything has 2 sides; the tradition is being forgotten due to the growth of the society.

I have once read an article about Vietnam, written by Steven K.Bailey, he said: If Saigon is the heart of Vietnam, Hanoi is the brain, then the villages ar the cells that make up the rest of the national body. This is perfectly true. The villages are one part of Vietnamese tradition. I say this because most specialties are made in the countryside. For example, silk from Ha tay, coconut form Ben Tre, mango from Nam Dinh, etc. In the past, these specialties are the briny income of the people. Therefore, they grow it not only for their reputation but also for their income. However, when the society becomes more modern, people dont concentre on what theyre good at anymore.



Everything that they care about is how to make more money with an easiest way. The modern society forces them to debate like that and because of that, they no longer grow their specialties. 50 old age ago, whenever people want to buy coconut, they came to Ben Tre for the best one but now they accept the coconut with sink quality and lower price. This behavior leads to the partly extinction of the coconut growth families.

The tradition also reflects itself through some historical places such as: Hoa Lo prison in Hanoi. According to the Vietnam cultural profile, it was used to slide by the Communists during the Indochina war. It was very famous and it attracts many tourists to discover.
