The manner in which blacks from America and blacks from French colonies became surrounded by racial oppression is similar and different. Both groups of blacks became burdened by Europeans contact with Africa. Europeans cognize that they needed labor and abundant resources, in which Africa had both. During the scramble for Africa, European powers staked claims to virtually the entire continent, while being apathetic to the lifestyles of its autochthonal citizens.
